“Things have a habit of working out, you know. Eventually.” Angie Sage. As an author and illustrator, Angie Sage publishes and illustrates a vast number of books for many age groups. Her main work has been illustrating children’s stories and chapter books, but has written two fantasy series of which she is best known for. Since 2005, the now sixty-five year old woman’s writing still brings out feelings of wonder and excitement in her readers. As a child, she lived in Thames Valley, England, where her father worked as a publisher. She loved to read books, especially when she would get lost in them. Throughout her childhood she read various sci-fi and fantasy books, the most exciting books she loved though were called “dummy books.” She would fill these entirely blank books her dad would bring home …show more content…
She later moved to Cornwall, England in order to pursue inspiration for her books. She started to write and illustrate children’s books, eventually starting to write chapter books and concepts for her first fantasy series. “It took me a long time to get to the stage where I felt ready to write the story I had always wanted to write, because I wasn’t sure how it would turn out. But after the first few chapters I knew it was going to work and that was a great feeling,” according to Angie Sage. She sent out the first book in the Septimus Heap series into the world in 2005, called Magyk, not knowing if it would succeed. After it showed up on the New York Times Bestseller list in the number one spot, she began writing full time. She moved to a village in Somerset, England where she wrote the last four books in the series, finishing the last book Fyre in 2013. She recently finished writing a trilogy called TodHunter Moon, a sequel to the Septimus Heap series. Currently, she is writing a book called Maximillian Fly, a stand-alone novel she started working on late
