Anh do’s journey was an enthralling physical and mental one, although the choice of leaving Vietnam seemed deliberate there wasn’t a huge regard of choice. The whole journey was a very enchanting flight quest, they decided to leave the troubles of Vietnam in a sense of a flight. This then quickly turned into an adventurous quest. They decided to go farther than just the initial safety and take the opportunity they were given and thrive upon that. The mental strength of Ahn Do as a person is immense as he has stayed strong and positive through so much and is still giving back to Australia now.

Anh’s family was forced to leave home due to the after effect of the Vietnam war and the way his family had people fight for different sides. Now that one side had ‘won’ they were opposed to the opposition and their fighters and made it hard for them. Another big reason they were forced to leave home was poverty in Vietnam they simply didn’t have enough of what they needed to survive, this then forced them to leave elsewhere and seek asylum in another country.

In the case of Anh Do’s family, at first, they were worried about moving but after a very short amount of time they started to fit in well. This was mainly due to the welcoming of the community. The main ways a community can make someone feel welcome are through equality. This means that each member of the community treats the new member the same way they treat others, this is important and the way a community can do this is by not judging a book by its cover.
