Did you know that the Humane Society of the US found 338 possible violations of the Animal Welfare Act? Animal testing is cruel and inhumane because they are living things too and shouldn’t be treated so badly. Animal testing affects others by testing medications and even makeup on animals to make sure it’s safe for human use. Heartless doctors inject animals to see what happens, if it’s not safe for an animal it’s safe for us, in most cases. Animals are different from humans so results can always be incorrect. In the 50s, a sleeping pill, Thalidomide,caused 10,000 babies to be born with severe deformities, it was tested on animals and passed. Paul Furlong, Professor of Clinical Neuroimaging at Aston University states “It’s very hard to create an animal model that even equates closely to what we’re trying to achieve in the human.” Drugs intended to reduce inflammation in critically ill patients that needed help, failed even though they were tested on mice.
