I never was quite a fan of horror books but I always loved the fantasy and mysteries and that is what attracted me to this book at the beginning. After I start to read the first 2 chapters I have thrown away the book because it really scared me, but only because I made the mistake to read it at night, after 12a.m and when I was alone in the whole flat. Worst combination ever. I picked it up after a while because I’ve heard many great reviews and I thought I would be good to read it. That was the moment I fell in love with it. I literary felt in love with Anna even before Cas did. She was perfectly described with every little, gruesome detail, she literarily was a goddess of death. I was amazed by Kendare’s style of writing, it was so deliciously accurate, captivating, fascinating, horrifying and extremely beautiful. I have read a lot of books in my life but this one really captivated me. The story line was so refreshing, so mesmerizing and very unpredictable, I love a story line that I can’t predict what will happen next and this one was perfect. Once I started I couldn’t stop reading it until the end. I wanted to know what was going to happen next and the most unexpected moment was the appearance of the voodoo spirit, that spirit scared the fuck out of me, even though it was only in the book. And also the love story behind all this horror is so wonderful, refreshing and interesting. I mean
