The Sustainability of The Earth and How It Could Be Continued on Another Planet

Humans have evolved drastically over millions of years, causing technology to evolve as well. Humans went from using wood, stone and metal to now the usage of more complex and sophisticated materials. However, the resources are depleting at an alarming rate. In future energy systems, biomass will be a limited resource that must be used in the most efficient manner (RISE, 2017). As the birth rate is slowly increasing, more resources are needed to support and sustain lives. The most important issue is that fresh water is going scarce and an alternative way needs to be found to supply water. As a result, some 1.1 billion people worldwide lack access to water, and a total of 2.7 billion find water scarce for at least one month of the year (World Wide Fund for Nature, 2018). Scientists at National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) are developing new ways to make water by recycling and reusing bodily fluids

If all else fails, moving to a different planet may be a possibility. However, if mankind were able to move to a different planet, the same mistakes that were made on earth cannot happen again. Since the most crucial thing for life to be sustained is water it is possible for Mars to be habitable. Mars has a North and South Pole. But while Earth's polar ice caps consist solely of water ice, Mars' polar caps are a combination of water ice and carbon dioxide ice (Smith, 2017). 5 big issues that can affect life on another planet; a scenario is super cancer or suffocation, new set of legal issues, earth plants and animals can suffer, living on moons means mega tsunamis and volcanoes and finally the concept of time will be messed up (Fernando,
