The presentation “Navigating Anti-Immigration Rhetoric During Politically Turbulent Times” , was present by Susana Munoz, who is a assistant professor of higher education Colorado state university. She born in Mexico. When she was 6 years old, her step father meet her mother, they fall in loved and married, then they came to US. They had been living in Ohio for a while and moved to Alaska. She worked in student affair for 13 years, which worked for students from low income family, gave students and their families financial aids or other help...etc. And then she started interested in researching undocumented students. She also wrote a book- journal of undocumented students.

Legal consciousness is defined as the process in which individual lived experiences and self is constructed, shaped, and influence by the law or legal norms. Fear and stigma are often central to how one navigates legal status. We have gathered some stories from Munoz’s students to share with us. An example is when a girl, who was a undocumented student, was 16 years old, a boy asked her why she is here just because of her race, and she felt very humiliation at that time. Another is about mental health issues, some undocumented students was suffer by depression. Money also is a big problem for those students go to graduate school. They can’t afford it, because of their social status, even though they are qualify and be given some financial aid, money is still a pain in ass because of their
