Many people sympathize with the cause of supporting innocent Palestinian civilians, and therefore support pro- Palestinian organizations on college campuses like the SJP, which actually promote anti-semitism. The anti semitism on college campuses has recently become a big problem due to the popularity of anti-zionism, caused by the recent conflict between the Israelis and the Palestinians in the West Bank. Ironically, this prejudice is taking place on a university, an organization which agrees with liberal principles. There have been many discussions about the battle over political correctness and it’s prominence amongst college campuses. Students exude such senstitivity to hatred that they won’t even read books displaying topics such as misogyny or physical abuse. However, these same people are standing up for a cause that contradicts these believes. The SJP has taken advantage of this recent conflict to speak out against Israel and it’s policies. The conflict is often misunderstood and people are generally attached to the underdogs, explaining why they typically tend to side with the innocent Palestinians. In reality Israel along with the U.S has given billions of dollars to the Palestinian National Authority. “If Hamas cared about the well-being of its citizens, it would use that money to build schools and public works or invest in businesses. Instead, Hamas devotes its scarce resources to building a terror economy of tunnels and rockets and sending its young men to die in suicide raids. That is why Gaza is impoverished” (Wall Street Journal).
