Submerged in family death, drama, politics and religion, Sophocles’ Antigone is a story full of complex tragedy. The author also managed to fit tension between individual action and free will. An example of this is Antigone's decision to defy Creon's rules. Antigone is considered a static character. This is because she does not change in her convictions. Antigone takes a stand and doesn't back down even as she faces death. An example of a dynamic character is Antigone's uncle Creon. He proves as a dynamic character because he has multiple personalities throughout the play. Three include stubbornness, power, and strength. First of all, Antigone is a static character because she has a substantial and firm stand against the world, and in her integrity. Like her father, Oedipus, she pursues truth till the end. No matter the consequence. For example “Yes. but he has no right to keep me from what's mine.” line 61. Another example “Give me glory! He was the antagonist… but not a villain. He failed to recognize the bong of familial love that ties Antigone to her brother Polyneices. He also refused to listen to what his gods said and continued to listen to the thoughts of man. The first thing the antagonist did in Antigone was declare a harsh and unforgiving law. He portrayed that nobody will have a proper burial. Throughout his action of declaring this law he lost his daughter Antigone's trust. His law made it so that polyneices would be laid out in the field to be eaten by wolves and other carnivorous animals or bugs. Forcing antigone to fail to follow her father's rules and not follow the law. She went out and buried his body. No one knew it was her. But she ended up dying in the end of the
