The first factor that made me register for AP Economics was to learn about and experience a field that I have never really touched on. Exploring new opportunities can help me become a more versatile and diverse person. The second reason that I registered for AP Economics was to view our world in a different way. Learning about economics can help me understand our world in a financial viewpoint. The final reason why I registered for AP Economics was to challenge myself. Knowing that I have never learned about economics, taking the AP course in economics will be a challenge. The United States has one of the best education systems around the world, which gives me a much better opportunity to become well educated in order to pursue my lifestyle goals. Many countries around the world lack a strong education system, which does not give their children the opportunity to become well educated. With the education system of the United States, I am at an advantage over my peers around the world that do not have an education system like the United States. The second advantage that I have over my peers around the world is my luxury. I am so lucky and grateful to have a beautiful home, a bed to sleep in, more than enough food and water, a clean environment, and clothes to keep me warm. In many other places around the world, lots of people do not have these things in life, which can easily prevent them from pursuing their careers or ideal lifestyles. However, in my situation I am lucky enough to have those things, which gives me an advantage because I can focus on achieving my lifestyle goals and career, while the people that live in deprivation have to focus on surviving. The last advantage that I have over my peers around the world is versatility. I am able to explore anything I want because of the vast amount of opportunities around me. I can try new things and gain experience in a field that I want to pursue. However, many people around the world do not have opportunities like this. …show more content…
