Before the beginning of my senior year, I was constantly debating if I should take a college composition or not. I had original planned to take honors English 12 but, my mother constantly urged me to take college composition now so I wouldn’t have to take it in college. The major reason why I didn’t want to take college composition was because I didn’t want to have a repeat of AP English 11. I struggle all through AP English. Even though it wasn’t necessarily a hard class, it was my writing that held me back. I also struggled with keeping up with the speed of the class as well as the workload. Those were things I learned back in AP English, so they came naturally. My biggest error in all my papers was having to many awkward sentences. That different because in AP English, my biggest error was not being concise and not including enough detail. In this class, I didn’t my best writing on things that I can relate to such as personal stories of my childhood and experiences. I did my worst writing on process papers and argument papers. While I did argumentized papers in AP English, the biggest difference was that in this class were not taught how to write papers step by step. While we did receive handouts of sample of the essay, I wished we went over the step of writing of different types of paper. I do think that if Mrs. Mac created writing workshop for students like me who struggle with their writing, it could help improve their skills. I must say this year, I did organize and choose my word choice better than I did last year. My favorite paper that I did this year was the research paper on women in politics. I got a C+, which is not the best but, I enjoyed writing the paper. While I do believe I did a wonderful job on the paper, I did however, not stick to the purpose of the paper which is why my grade was so low. Overall, I have improved tremendously since my first paper. I hope to continue to improve my writing in college and plan to put
