Timothy Evan Thomas, better known by his stage name TX2, was born in Fort Collins, Colorado. Though he never expected himself to be a singer. In the beginning, he was actually a drummer, but unfortunate circumstances led TX2 to become the singer/songwriter he is today. He made it his mission to produce music that has a purpose. Whether it is to speak out about mental health or LGBTQ+ rights, the goal is to create a safe space for all listeners. Letting them know that they are not alone and that they are seen. In his song, “Randy McNally (No Love Like Christian Hate)” he exposes the backward legislation that members of Tennessee’s state government were attempting to pass. While ignoring the ever-present need for gun reform. In the song, TX2 directly addresses two of the responsible politicians, Lieutenant Governor Randy McNally and Governor Bill Lee. The singer had a conversation addressed to Mr. Lee stating, “I know you find me pretty wearing a dress in the street. Do you wanna come and see what I hide underneath? It's a gun and it’s free, you should point it at me.” These lyrics call out Bill Lee’s stance against transgender people and his inactivity on the topic of gun control. They convey to the audience, through a harsh tone, how extreme the legislation is and how much it harms and diminishes the trans community. The entire song is addressed to Randy McNally but there are a few lyrics that stand out “Back to the Governor Lieutenant (yes sir, yes sir). It's time we burn all their books and censor their looks and listen to the crooks (yes sir).” This tells the listener about Mr. McNally’s political stance on all of this.
