I am currently a junior at Billings Central and have participated three seasons on the Cross Country team where I have earned awards for Most-Improved, Runner of the Year, Academic All-State and a Varsity Letter. I also improved my fitness and developed strong friendships with my teammates throughout these seasons. As a student, I was selected to be a part of Central’s Pure Performance group. This is a group selected by teachers, to be role models and to inspire other students to achieve their pure performance potential. This year, I was inducted into National Honor Society, accomplishing one of my academic goals. I also joined Kids Connecting Kids, which has allowed me to get to know some of the younger students in the Billings Catholic School System and has given me the opportunity to be a good role model for them. I am an active member of St. Thomas the Apostle Parish and its Youth Group, which keeps me involved in service projects such as Toys for Tots, providing gifts to children in the Billings community at Christmas. After high school, I plan to study and become a Pediatric Nurse so that I can continue to help others in my adult life. …show more content…
One of my favorite places is the Yellowstone Valley Animal Shelter, where I have assisted in caring for animals, cleaning their kennels, doing laundry and keeping the lobby clean. I also volunteer in the classrooms at St. Francis Primary and with Flakesgiving, the Food Bank, Family Services, the Montana Rescue Mission, Locks of Love, United Blood Services, and the HUB. Every year there are several races throughout the Billings community which are used as fundraisers for nonprofits.
