The term archetypal literally means old/ original pattern. “Ashputtle” is one of the fist versions of a story that is commonly known as Cinderella. “Ashputtle”, written by the Grimm Brothers is one of the most commonly known fairytales of all times. While Ashputtle is the original, there are many versions of this popular fairytale. Although all of the versions are slightly different, all of the stories share a common theme, archetypal narrative patterns.
