While watching the movie twilight, I could have focused on the hero of the movie which was Edward Cullen. Instead, I was so in-tuned with the innocence, beauty and loyalty of Isabella, the Maiden of the Twilight. The maiden is usually a virgin literally or metaphorically. In addition, maidens are known to be attractive, trustworthy and innocent; yet, they are always in danger and need to be rescued because they are helpless. Throughout the movie Twilight, Bella shows her purity, companionship and repetition of needing to be saved.
According to Jung’s theories of archetype “the “maiden” is portrayed as the innocent victim of the monster” just as Bella is shown in Twilight she is the victim thought the whole movie. (jungs351). Bella needs to be saved. Corresponding to Jung’s theory, the rewriting of little red riding hood states that they are “potentially hovering between showing an innocent young maiden on her journey toward experience and adulthood and staging a young woman fatally punished for stepping off the tracks of proper femininity” such as the Twilight is attempting to balance Bella’s character (cite). While comparing Twilight’s maiden Bella too little Red Riding Hood their qualities are quite similar.

Her beauty have her targeted by high school guys and Edward saves her. She is also tempted by some of Cullen’s family because of her human smell but, they keep away from her because she is looked upon as family. Bella is later victimized by the bad vampire James, during the vampires’ baseball game. He goes after Bella forcing her to leave her father to spare her life; till, he gets her mother. Therefore, Bella is goes to rescue her mother and putting herself as the pray because she is the one who James is after. Sooner than later, that Cullen’s come to kill James before he kills Bella. Edward sucks James’ venom out of Bella’s arm to save her life. In the whole movie only Edward really saves Bella’s
