Ardent Health Services and Technology Issues
When Ardent Health Services purchased St. Joseph Healthcare located in Albuquerque, New Mexico they had a mission to bring superior healthcare services to the area. However, they encountered numerous problems with staff, technology, and aging facilities. The research in this paper will focus on the technology issues that Ardent faced. Technology issues can be the outdated computers, record keeping software, proper training and the equipment used in treating patients. We will define the scope and justify the solution to the problem facing Ardent Health Services.

A very real way to increase the profitability is to decrease loss and control costs. The same can be true of tracking patients that have diminished mental capacity or at risk of leaving the hospital. An RFID tag on a bracelet can give a health care provider a quick method of locating a patient; if they happen to be on the wrong floor or exiting the building in a stairwell. Medical staff can be outfitted with voice activated badges that can not only locate personnel but quickly have the right people alerted to a specific situation. These voice badges can be hands-free and clipped to a set of scrubs or a lab coat. They can be incorporated into the hospital telephone system and give greater mobility to all hospital staff and those in security that require immediate availability. All of these components will contribute to not only a more efficient organization but can represent a significant ROI for not just the organization but; improve patient wait times and patient
