Learning Best From Your Mistakes
“If at first you don’t succeed, Try, try again.” (William Edward Hickson) Without making mistakes how would you know how to swim, how to ride your bike or how J. K. Rowling got her book published after it was rejected 12 times? Through all these times, mistakes were made and disappointment was faced but this is the only way that we can truly achieve our goals. Making mistakes is a part of the everyday life and you just have to learn to accept them, benefits of making mistakes are that you can become more responsible, learn not to fear failure, and adapt to succeed. To begin, you will become responsible with the mistakes you make. Instead of passing the blame to someone else or saying it is not your fault stand up to your mistake and try to fix it. Akio Morita a co-founder of Sony had to take responsibility the company made an automatic rice cooker which was unsuccessful. They took the blame and continued on with the company which now is a multi-million dollar company. Next, there are lots of people who have a fear of failure which is the worst thing that can stop you from being successful. “By failing to prepare you are preparing to fail.”(Benjamin Franklin) If you go to a job interview and come with a negative attitude that you will not get the job you won’t get it. Finally, you have to learn to adapt to your mistakes and you will succeed. When you make a mistake you don’t want to do the same thing over and over. You could be expecting a different result but you will not, instead
