Can cancer make you depressed? Argument I have been doing a little research on cancer. My thoughts about cancer never really came to me until I recently watched the movie and read the book The Fault In Our Stars by John Green. Every since then I have been wondering if cancer can cause depression. In the book it talks about a 16 year old girl named Hazel that has cancer and a 17 year old boy named Augustus that also has cancer. so I went to google and searched if cancer can cause depression and I found out that some cancer can increase the chance of depression because of the constant feeling of death and the medication seems to be making a lot of cancer victims depressed.
