A person under the age of 18 can have a very small grasp on American history, and what it means to vote. Uneducated youth have a lack of experience in the political process, thus more likely to make bad judgement calls in the voting booth. Extensive research must be done on each individual candidate in order to make a knowledgable vote. Without the information on political policies and difference in parties, one can not be trust to pick the next president. In conclusion, younger voters should not be granted the right to vote at age 16. Examples of the reasons why can be justified by facts to statistics, and personal experience. Due to low participation, lack of interest and consequences, and without a complete education, voters under 18 should not be permitted. The outcome of such a decision has great potential to lead to carelessness and harm for the country. In order to stay safe, U.S. citizens must protect their laws and
