Argumentative Essay
Flowers for Algernon
The story of Flowers for Algernon is about a mentally retarded person becoming very smart. This persons name is Charlie Gordon. Charlie is a grown man who acts like a 9 year old kid. He strives to be smart and learn the best he can but there is no real good progress. He meets two doctors who use him because he is mentally ill. It is very wrong and I am against this.
The doctors performed the surgery without him informed of what they were going to do. They removed parts of the brain Charlie didn’t know they were going to do that. I wouldn’t want people to take out part of my brain. So it is very wrong to do something to some one with out there full consent. That is taking advantage of him; that’s wrong.
