Drunk driving, also known as a D.U.I. or Driving While Intoxicated is one of America’s most known incidents that occur all around the world. Drunk driving causes one-third of fatal car crashes. Yet, over four million of Americans still proceed to do it. Recently, one of the most known accidents occurred in the state of Oklahoma at Oklahoma State University. A woman named Adacia Chambers was accused of being under the influence and driving into a crowd of people who were enjoying the homecoming parade at Oklahoma State University. Chambers is currently facing murder charges when a total of four people were killed and a dozen of others were injured. Although, Chambers was not given a breath test, the officers that placed her under arrest and questioned her, believe that she was under the influence. Because of the way she was acting, lifeless look on her face, they believe that she was under the influence of alcohol at the time. Documents have shown that Chambers has had records of mental health issues and several attempts at suicide. Facts have also shown that Chambers have been treated and committed into psychiatric facilities throughout her life. Her attorney, Coleman, said that mental health issues run throughout their entire family. It makes my stomach upset and it makes me feel sick. There’s a difference between an accident and intentionally. There’s a difference between hurting someone and killing someone. I believe that Adacia Chambers, like the police and investigators said, did this act intentionally. Not only to harm herself, but to kill herself. If someone has had a document of mental health issues plus several suicide attempts, it is more than likely that they will continue doing so until they reach their destination. Chamber did not receive the proper medical attention she should have gotten. Her father, along with her attorney, said that Chambers was checked into several psychiatric hospitals of which they did not help. They said that could not do anything more for her so her dad checked her into more but they basically said the same
