Dystopian Argumentative Essay Do you ever wonder what our world would be like in the future? Dystopian literature is writing that explains about societies that have flaws. Studying dystopian literature helps us understand that we need to change our acceptance in diversity, people shouldn't be afraid to share their opinions/stand up to the government, and start watching and controlling our impact on the environment in our society.
To start, people could change the future by accepting diversity. For example, Harrison Bergeron tells the story about a teen boy named Harrison Bergeron who fights against the government to start a revolution that will allow people to use their unique strengths, in the text it says, “The year 2081, and everybody was finally equal… They were equal every which way. Nobody was smarter than anybody else. Nobody was better looking than anybody else…”(Pg. 1). For example, Hunger Games tells story about a girl who starts a rebellion against their government, the Capitol, so people can be free from sacrificing and killing each other which the text explains, “what if they don’t have a winner? People would go crazy, wouldn’t they?...The Capitol’s furious about what you did in the arena.” (Pg.118, 122) This supports the claim because if you share your opinions or stand up to the government then other people may agree and follow you. Others may be too shy and can’t stand up for themselves but if you are brave enough to share your ideas other people can help you and build off of your idea that can revolutionize everything. So sharing an idea and standing up to the government can be the start of a great future. Therefore, to ensure a better future people shouldn’t be afraid to share their opinions/ stand up to the
