The topic I am choosing to write my paper on is Education funding; I am going to be focusing primarily on America’s education funding. Education only receives six percent of taxes. That is a low number considering how much other categories are getting from the tax dollars and compared to how much other countries put into education. The majority of a schools funding is currently based on property taxes and I don’t see that to be fair. In my opinion, I don't think schools in richer neighborhoods should be better funded and have better resources than those inner city schools. It is not fair to kids living in poverty that their education has to suffer and those in wealthier areas are getting better resources. I think we should even out the wealth coming from property taxes to all schools to create more equality and help the schools in inner cities. I believe that education should receive more funding in America because it will help the youth, create more jobs, and benefit America as a whole. …show more content…
Some of those sources that I have already found are, National Education Association, SchoolFundingFairness.org, and The Huffington Post. First, I would like to put together some of my research questions and ask some of my peers and teachers to answer them. This will help me to not only gather more information on the topic, but to also see other people's outlook on this issue and have more opinions, possibly from both sides. Secondly, I am going to use the internet to research my topic. I will research the overall issue, and then I plan on researching more in depth by finding articles that best fit my research questions. Lastly, I plan to look for books or magazine articles to find more information on my topic. I may also run into discussions about my topic on the TV or radio, and I will also document those as
