Gay Parenting Society has been more welcoming to the LGBT (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender) community, but there is still the controversy whether same sex couples are fit enough to raise children. Critics are convinced that raising children with the same sex partner will negatively affect the child. There are stereotypes that argue that these children will be more prone to have the gay genes, but there has been research that claims that idea is preposterous. Religion also plays a major role in the controversy, arguing that it is unnatural for same sex couples to raise children as a family. “The bottom line, here is that the children should be our first priority. There is research that has been done numerous times and nothing was found that could be harmful to children. However, critics still ignore the facts and insist in thinking that gay parenting is unnatural, which is not the
