Imagine being on a lake, fishing for the grand prize of half a million dollars, and it’s crucial to win. This is the last day of the tournament and the prize only one ounce away. According to SC Wildlife, “On the very last day of the tournament Gagliardi [pro fisherman] won the $500,000 dollars by a single ounce” (Aiken). This statistic reveals that even though the pro angler won $500,000, he only won by an ounce, proving that it is still very difficult. By researching about pro fishing, people can understand that getting started as a pro fisherman can be tough, pro fishing can be very difficult, but there are many advantages of pro fishing so people should have a challenge fishing but have fun at the same time.

According to the FLW, “Christie has acquired about 560,000 dollars as a professional angler” (Dreadfulwater). This shows how after a while of fishing professionally, it can pay off in a big way. According to Dreadfulwater, “The first three years he paid his expenses, but in 2011 he secured a sponsorship with Diet Mt. Dew to help with them” (Dreadfulwater). When professional fishing, as we talked about it is difficult, but sponsors are a big help to anglers, which help them make more money to do better for them and their families. According to Bill Cochran, “His best finish was at Sam Rayburn Lake in Texas, where he placed 49th and won $1,400 in March” (Cochran). Even though the anglers can place very low in the finish, they can still win a considerable amount of money in the tournaments. While fishing professionally can be hard, it can pay off in big way in the end. By searching pro fishing, people can learn that just starting as a pro fisherman can be hard, pro fishing is a very difficult sport, and that there are many upper hands of pro fishing so people should have a challenge at fishing but fun at the same time. Now that I have researched more about professional fishing, I can now understand the difficulties of it, but how fun it can really be. In all, professional fishing is a great career for those who are very passionate about it, and those who are willing to face the difficulties of it.
