During an interview that took place on Friday, April 7th, the day after President Donald Trump launched missiles at Syria, he claimed that his actions were justified. Trump stated that “Syrian dictator Bashar al-Assad launched a horrible chemical weapons attack on innocent civilians. Using a deadly nerve agent, Assad choked out the lives of helpless men, women, and children. It was a slow and brutal death for so many. Even beautiful babies were cruelly murdered in this very barbaric attack.” Many individuals criticized President Trump for his actions, but the truth is that this counter attack was necessary. The turmoil in Syria is not something that we want to become involved with. This argument is effective because it successfully explains to non-supporters why President Trump launched missiles into Syria and his reasoning behind the refugee crisis. …show more content…
On Tuesday, April 4, 2017, Syrian dictator Bashar al-Assad released a chemical attack on his own people. The intentions of this attack were never explained. It seems as if the Syrian government implemented these attacks for no apparent reason at all. Nearly one hundred innocent Syrian men, women, and children were killed from the chemical attacks. Innocent, harmless babies can be included in these fatalities. In order to teach their government a lesson, and avenge the death of the innocent Trump ordered 59 Tomahawk missiles to be launched into Syrian territory. This order was placed with the intentions of showing the Syrian government and Bashar al-Assad that they cannot continue their harsh rule. The missiles were launched in order to protect the Syrian population, not to harm them. President Donald Trump is not hoping to see more Syrians dead. He is hoping for quite the opposite, in fact. Our President is trying to protect the civilians from the harsh reign of their own
