The liberals and conservatives are always battling on who gets the right to decide what students should be learning. Recently the conservatives won and they have the right to choose what the students are learning about. In document 11 a group of historians working together stated that “Public schools must provide students with a sound elementary and high school education that prepares them to succeed in college and their future careers.” This is stating that whatever is taught to the students should help them to succeed in college and their future careers. This helps decide what students should be learning, if it isn't helpful to them in their high school, college, and future careers it shouldn't be taught. In document 7 The Washington Post stated that “Historians on Tuesday criticized proposed revisions to the Texas social studies curriculum, saying that many of the changes are historically inaccurate and that they would affect textbooks and classrooms far …show more content…
In source 11 historians working at Texas universities stated that “Those of us who teach and conduct research in colleges and universities have grown concerned, however,that social studies curriculum standards in Texas do not meet student needs.” this is just agreeing with what the historians were saying. Texas isn't teaching what should be taught to help the students in their future. In order to fix this problem history, should be taught from both Liberals and Conservatives prospective. This will show both sides of history and it would let the students choose what they believe what is the right
