One and Done “I had 190 dollars, in my account and I spent 140 dollars at Wal-Mart because I needed linen and new bedding and stuff, so now I have fifty dollars, it’s gotta last me a week.” – (Ben Simmons), what does it take to fulfill a dream? Determination, perseverance, and hard work, most would agree that these attributes are needed to fulfill your dream or goal. People would spend hours, weeks, and months, even years to be successful, so once they have their dream job, they know this has happened by their own strength, and will to succeed. Now, could you imagine that all your hard work was taken for granted, by the people who say “they want the best for you”. Should the players be paid based on performance of should, all players be paid equally? For if the players who performed the best that season receive a higher paycheck, and then receive an NBA paycheck I would see how that would be unfair, but on the other hand if other players are lacking in performance and are not putting forth the same effort as those who have been performing well do those players actually deserve to be paid the same as those who have worked themselves to the bone? College athletes should be paid, but how is the question that should be solved as soon as possible, or the NCAA should get rid of the one and done rule all together;allowing college athletes to go straight to the NBA draft from high school rather than wasting a semester in collage that is not going to get them anywhere. Athletes are not going earn a degree in a semester, “ well their going to ask me Ben why didn’t you go to class , well I can’t get a degree in two semesters so it’s kind of pointless I feel like I’m wasting time” – ( Ben Simmons ).
