“Common Citizens Should Have the Right to Carry Guns” Whether common citizens should be allowed to have guns or just the military and law enforcement should have guns, has, for some time, been a highly debated argument in society. While some believe that guns should only be allowed for the military and law enforcement, this is not the case. Common citizens should be allowed to carry guns for self-defense, if someone robs a store, hunting, because for food, and because the second Amendment clearly states, "That a well-regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a Free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed" (U.S. Constitution). However, some might say that people don't need to hunt. They can live on a vegetarian diet or eat animals that have been raised for eating, but human beings have hunted since the start of mankind. People can't just take away something that has been the way of life for centuries upon centuries. Hunting is an activity that takes skill and patience, and it is often shared with family and friends. Some people go out with their dads, friends, and grandpas to have a good time. It is also an activity that allows people to enjoy the outdoors. Winter is a perfect season for hunting, and it is good to have something to do outside during the winter months. Hunting is a good source of food.
