Music can be very influential towards people, and it can affect both a person's mood and actions. It is a controversial topic about whether music should be censored or not, and there are many valid points for both sides. It is highly debated on how music can affect people of all ages and how censoring it can affect people.
Music often influences a person’s mood, and it may also affect their actions. Sexually explicit lyrics, for example, are thought to lead to more disrespect of women and more sexuality in minors. Rap and hip-hop have also been blamed for more street violence and shootings. Some people may say that censorship is meant to protect children from exposure to derogatory lyrics, as well. Some believe that regulating music, which can be highly influential towards both children and adults, can provide balance.
However, censoring music may not be a good solution. It would better help people, especially children, if they were educated about the messages of the music they listen to. If children are properly educated on it, they can

Censorship prevents the artists from expressing themselves and denies them their freedom of speech. It can also give the impression that people are not mature and responsible enough to handle these types of things. People should be responsible enough to stop listening to songs they find offensive or violent, or keep their children from listening to it if they find it is inappropriate.
In short, people should not censor music because of many reasons. Although some argue that music should be censored so that children aren't exposed to derogatory lyrics, people should instead be better educated on the meaning of lyrics so they can understand it.
