If soda is the only type of sugary drink or food that will have a higher tax, that wouldn’t be right since there are many other beverages that have more added sugar than soda, such as ice cream, cookies, syrup, fructose and candy. Many people say that it is good to make extra taxes on soda will make people more healthy but, there are also many ways that it can be a wrong choice to choose. It can be a bad to raise taxes on soda because it is not effective to make extra taxes on soda make people healthier, extra taxes can hurt other people’s jobs, people shouldn’t tell people what to drink, people might get angry with the new rule, and, even though soda shouldn’t be taxed, there can be different side effects.

If people don’t like the new taxes added to sodas, then they might go on an outrage and start protesting. They might also start attacking the people for protesting out in the streets. The citizens also could start vandalizing areas and start a march and then it might make people believe that soda shouldn’t be taxed.
Lastly, even though soda should NOT have an extra tax, soda can be unhealthy. Though soda is delicious, one out of three people are either overweight or has diabetes and drinking less soda can reduce diet risks and it can help people’s lives and reduce suffering. Soda also increases the rate of getting a heart attack by twenty percent and studies said that if you drink one can of soda each day, it will increase the risk of a heart disease.
Clearly, many people say that adding extra taxes to soda will reduce obesity and make you more healthier yet, that is a false answer and it isn’t effective at all. It doesn’t make you healthier since it does not affect your health, it can damage people’s jobs and businesses, the government shouldn’t tell you what to drink or what not to drink, people might get angry about the taxes and they might revolt, and, even if soda shouldn’t be taxed, it is still unhealthy for you. Now, the government should stop adding taxes to tell us what to do and what not to
