For a long time people have debated whether or not to get rid of sports from schools. According to many articles, athletic activities are too distracting, other pieces of writing have said that grades have dropped after kids have played. Therefore, schools should not have athletics because Americans are behind other nations in graduation rates, it cuts district costs, money can be leftover for events and what is necessary for the classroom.

According to this article “new bleachers can cost half a million dollars” (11). “They also need to pay for buses, the band, cheerleaders, meals for on the road, hotel's, security, painting of the fields and snacks” (Ripley 11). All of these costs are adding up to an outrageous price and they still have To pay for all that happens in the school. For these specific reason that were stated in this text, sports cost way too much for what has to be looked at mostly, which is school.
