“ Do you really get what you pay for? At the shoe store, yes. But, when it comes to paying kids for grades, probably not-especially if you’re trying to buy a lifelong love of learning.” The following quote stated by Mary Ellen Flannery perfectly sums up a main issue at the moment. Students are beginning to feel the need to be payed when doing well on a quiz or test. In fact, almost every students wants to be payed. But, should that be the case? Students should not be payed if they do well on a test due to the fact that it will leave the school in debt, will make children feel left out, and will give students withdrawals when college comes around. Paying students who achieve good test scores will put the school in debt. Overall, students cost the school a lot of money. In fact, as stated by the Education Market Association, virtually all teachers wind up paying nearly $500 on only school supplies, Also, one tenth of teachers say they spent more than $1000 on just supplies for school. Considering the following evidence, schools already pay a lot of money and paying kids for good grades would not help the cause. Lastly, as said by FCC, K-12 school districts spend more than 8 billion dollars per year on textbooks. Now that is expensive, In the end, providing students with money for good grades would leave the school in deep debt. …show more content…
Many kids usually feel left out through cliques. From a survey provided by kidshealth.org, 62% of students say they have seen another person left out. That is more than half. And, 52% of students 3rd through 8th grade said they’ve seen someone left out due to their grades. Clearly, one of the major causes of seclusion is due to one’s grades. To add on, paying students will rise the percentages and will really make people feel left out. Overall, the possibility of giving students cash for good grades would make other classmates feel left
