Marijuana the foremost illicit drug used worldwide today, yet it’s used to benefit our health. Although, a few consider marijuana a gateway drug, research has shown that it doesn’t open doors to addictive drugs such as heroin, methamphetamine, and cocaine. Therefore, why do people oppose the benefit of medical marijuana, if it’s not a gateway drug? In countless cases, medical marijuana prescribed to treat people who experience nausea, poor appetite, excessive weight loss, muscle spasms, seizure disorders and Crohn’s disease. Studies have shown that medical marijuana improves lung capacity, due to long breath inhalations. No one yet has died due to smoking marijuana. Yet, 430,000 people die each year in the United States due to smoking tobacco and it’s still legal.
