Living creature is composing with material substances and immaterial substances. There are physical properties and mental properties in human body. When thinking or doing something, our brain starts to process what is going and our mind starts to gather all the feeling and emotion associated to our thought. I will be arguing that brain and mind identity theory is not in a defendable position which explains that mind is an existing immaterial substance. I will be begin from defining key terms to clarify the meaning and follow with the arguments against my thesis with the evidence to backed up my point of view.

Everything in the universe is made up of matter, universe is made up of small physical materials in the space or even human body that

It has it own mass, size and weight and interactive with other physical bodies. Mind is an immaterial substance that consider as a part of brain that includes consciousness, thought, mental processes and events as well as feeling of pain. Mind needs a privilege to access which others cannot access our mind unlike body that everyone could see it physically. Mind is an immaterial substance so it cannot work with out brain or move the body which implies that for mind to work we should have brain.

As oppose to the argument that mind-brain identity theory is not in a defendable position, Descartes theory seem to be the theory that I could use support my point. However, identity theory has an argument to weaken Descates theory of dualism. Real distinction argument that supports dualism becomes a problem in this context as well as the causal interaction with

Scientific evidence is well prove with the theory. In the production to create heat, it starts from the kinetic energy. Molecules combine together to create heat which is like a process in our human mind. Thought was created by the brain, which thought and heat can’t be exist by themselves. They are the result from another processes. Therefore, there will be no metal state brain is not exist. Identity theory said that mind is brain, if its not how can immaterial like mind can involve. The evolution theory comes to take place, we all begin with the physical stage since we are an egg which has no mental properties. The mental properties start to develop when physical properties reached the certain level (Adebayo A., 2012). However, it’s possible for life to be form in the mental state with no brain involve in the same chemical-physical state. Saying that if mind and brain are identical, brain state and mental state must be the same, so what happen in mental state must happen in brain too which mental state develop at different time in our body. Therefore, how can immaterial mind be
