This article gives clear information regarding the executive order on immigration and refugee policies. Mr. Stack informs the readers of the Democratic reaction as well as the reaction of the nation and how the order as affected citizens and politicians so far. Furthermore, the text simply states what is known and unknown about the executive order, concentrating more on facts than biased opinions which help the readers decision on if it is a Muslim ban or not. The author questions the executive order, and if it is a Muslim ban, by analyzing it in the context of the global Muslim population and existence of terrorism. The details of the order are disclosed as well as the 9/11 attacks as justification for the order, and Trump’s responses to criticism. Furthermore, Mr. Kertscher reports that President Obama enacted a prior executive order including the same seven countries, a fact that is not always apparent to the average citizen. Further evidence is then presented that although the executive order is not worded as a Muslim ban; the order was enacted after President Trump had already called for a Muslim ban in the past. However, the majority of Muslims in the world do not live in these seven countries, although the populations of the countries themselves are majority Muslim.
