Hate speech is protected free speech because the first amendment states that congress will not make a law preventing the freedom of speech, hate speech is just another way to express your opinion and finally, hate speech is just a name that people call it if they don't agree.
My first reason why hate speech is protected free speech is because the first amendment states that congress will not make a law preventing the freedom of speech. Legally, you are allowed to speak in anyway that you would like, as long as you are not physically hurting anyone. For example, the Neo-Nazis who marched in Washington, DC worked along side with the police who protected them against the counter-protesters so even though many people didn't agree with what they were doing,

Many people get injured during protest no matter which side they’re on, because they are promoting something that is not widely accepted by people. For example, the attack in Charlottesville hurt and injured so many people and those people were the counter-protesters. Hate speech had always caused some form of counter-protest which is fine, but it is also causes a lot of wrong arrests which puts so many families under so much stress and pressure. And not only that, but the ‘prisoner’ as well.
My next reason is that in many other free countries such as Denmark and France hate speech is illegal. America is always looking to be better than other countries and then they allow people to threaten other people's lives when they are delivering their speech. This just puts more of a bad name towards America and Americans.
Finally, hate speech should not be considered free speech because it’s just really mean. That sounds really juvenile, but it’s true. Hate speech scares so many people, and then since they are scared, they join the group because they feel targeted and they want to stay “under the
