Even though laws have been passed because of racism, it still happens today. The generation today, is more open to different races, and because of that we had a black president. With discrimination of different race/races, racism is the thought of one race or color of skin has more physical/mental abilities than another. It is based on the attitudes of one or more people based on the supposed superiority of one group to the supposed infirmity of another. Mankind is so tragically bound to the starless midnight of racism, we refuse to accept the view and war that the daybreak of peace, and brotherhood can never become a reality. It all depends on each one of us as individuals whether we want to make that effort. Hatred is not something you are born with, but something you learn from friends, family and the community. Everybody, no matter what race or culture, they have a right to live happily and freely. To stop racism, we should try to be friends with everyone. We can treat everyone with respect, so that we can be treated with respect back. If someone doesn’t want to be your friend, you should be okay with that. Anyone can understand if you don’t like someone who is mean to you. Even with so many different cultures, and races at our school, we should be able to accept and respect all of them into our community. Racism is not only a bad thing, but it can also be very hurtful. For instance, if you are excluded in some activities just because of your culture, then you would be very upset that people are treating you like that. If someone is being excluded, you should put yourself in their position. Nobody wants to be excluded from anything because we are all God’s children and we should all be accepted and treated the
