Tough voting ID laws in the US have begun to disinfranchise a large number of people. The photo Ids are desgin to protect ballot integrity and prevent faud. The effects of requiring photo ID's may actually have wide spread voter suppersion in some states. The opponents of the voting arguering that the voting laws bring large scale disinfranchisement is the main argument against voter photo Ids. Current ruleing in some states voter registration laws must be passed throught the justice departement.
