Richard Rodriguez wrote about the challenges he has been through as an immigrant from Mexico in his essay “Aria: Memoir of a Bilingual Childhood.” Rodriguez illustrates how he has changed from speaking Spanish to English, from private individuality to public individuality. He is sharing his experiences to other immigrants that can relate to him. Through his experience, he has proven that bilingual education is not necessarily the best for bilingual foreigners.
