Dr. Armand Frappier
Dr. Armand Frappier is a biological Canadian scientist
Born- 26 November 1904 in Salaberry-de-Valleyfield, Quebec.
His father was a principal at school in Salaberry-de-Valleyfield.
Married - June 29, 1929 and he had four children, the first one is daughter.
Died - 17 December 1991 in Montréal, Quebec.
The life and work of Dr. Frappier’s was changed when his mother died with tuberculosis in May, 1923. When he was 19 year old.
He focused:
• Anti-tuberculosis vaccinations.
• Research in infectious diseases.

• He spend two years at the Institute Pasteur in Paris working with the developers of the tuberculosis vaccine strain Bacille Calmette-Guérin (BCG)
• He became Director of laboratories for the Saint-Luc Hospital.
Contribution:
• Dr. Armand Frappier was founded of the first institution which was dedicated to medical research in Quebec and in medical research.
• In 1938 he was open an institution for to medical research: The Institute “de Microbiologic et hygiene de Montréal”.
• It was the first French-speaking School and after that it was known as the University of Montréal.
Inventions:
• Dr. Frappier was against tuberculosis.
• At the starting of 1930, Dr. Frappier was discovered the anti-tuberculosis vaccinations in North America using the BCG vaccine” (2012).
