Arrogance In The Southern Baptist Convention

The Southern Baptist Convention met for organization May 8-12, 1845, in Augusta, Ga., pursuant to a call by the board of managers of the Virginia Foreign Mission Society along with a delegation made up of various missionary societies that also included churches which made up the Southern Baptists denomination. The reason for this meeting was not based on any ideas that focused on arrogance on the part of the Southern Baptist but instead on the arrogance of the Northern Baptists. In reality both sides could be viewed as being arrogant to some degree. This delegation was lead led by the promenade Baptist preacher William Johnson. The preambles to both the Triennial Convention (as the general convention, meeting every three years, was called)
