Artemis Fowl is a fictional story about Holly the fairy who has to escape from Artemis’s Manor. In this adventurous story Holly has to fight trolls, humans and leprechauns. There are eight circumstances to be a archetypal hero Holly from Artemis Fowl is the both similar and dissimilar to these characteristics. Holly shows that she is similar to an archetypal hero because she caught the troll and leprechaun she also accepted the quest to get out Artemis manor, but she is also not one because she doesn't have all of the characteristics. There are eight characteristics to be an archetypal hero Holly has some of thoughts but not all. Some are initiating event, epic quest and lives else where. Holly lives underground but has to come out to beat Artemis. Follie says "there are a million fairies out there watching your every move. There are a lot of hopes riding on you. But there is a lot of prejudice against you too. The future of law enforcement is in your hands" (37). Root had never said this before holly was in shock and said okay so there her quest started. She doesn't have any special weapons, mighty warrior which is what she does which is not a lot. Holly has no special weapons. She fights the troll "the troll was gnashing his tusks, greasy molars, trying to grip her helmet" (57).doesn't do anything else. this is a big characteristic to be a hero. But there is also epic quest which is just getting out of Artemis manor with she does but only to save herself really. There is also help from other people which only follie helped her so she did it on her own. She is selfish because she only cared about saving her self and getting out of the manor. Holly could be a hero but does not follow a lot of the archetypal hero
