Imagine having fun swimming with your friends and all of a sudden a 2 meter long sea scorpion is swimming next to you, what would you do? The eurypterid, the sea scorpion, is a very fascinating and diverse animal. It lived in many different locations. Also, it was one of the fiercest predators and lived for a long period of time.
Today the eurypterid is compared to an over-sized scorpion. It was one of the biggest arthropods in the Silurian Period. Some eurypterids walked, some burrowed, and some did both. Some had paddle- like limbs that helped them swim, while others had limbs made for walking or gathering food. They were a fascinating creature!
