Solomon Asch was born in urban Warsaw, Poland on September 14, 1907 and then at the age of 13 he immigrated to the United States with his family. College of the City of New York was were Asch received his bachelors degree in 1928, later he went to Columbia University and earned his master's degree in 1930 and his Ph.D. in 1932. In the 1950’s Asch become know for his series of experiments, known as the Asch Conformity Experiments. The Asch Conformity Experiments explored the effects of social pressure on conformity. The purpose of the Asch Conformity Experiments was to explain the power of conformity in groups.
