Every year approximately 42,773 people commit suicide, and 1,069,325 people attempt suicide each year. (Four Myths) People every day are suffering and contemplating whether to take their own life. There are also people going through diseases in which cause them a tremendous amount of pain. A solution that has been presented is assisted suicide which, is the taking of lethal drugs administered by a doctor, to a patient that is suffering from a terminal or incurable disease. The reason why assisted suicide is such a controversial topic is because, it can be seen as a form of murder by the doctor. On the other side people who have terminal and incurable diseases, should be able to determine what they want for their lives. Assisted suicide

Families are tearing down financially from the outstanding medical fees from the treatments they have to pay for to keep their family members alive. A patient with a terminal or incurable disease would be paying for medical treatments that they don’t need, because of the inevitable truth that they are going to die anyways. You could say that the patient could just choose to not take the treatments, but not taking them also causes pain from the disease taking over your body. Either way, the patient is using expenses on a terminal or incurable disease that causes them pain and finical hardship. Assisted suicide in whole is a personal right as for the individual that is going through the hardships. Most people would define assisted suicide as the “easy way out”, but those people are in real pain, and for a long time having been fighting for their lives. This medical procedure is the best way out for the people who deserve to rest in peace and not in pain. Patients deserve the right as human beings to choose what they want for their lives. Overall, people with terminal and incurable disease should be given the option of assisted suicide. It can save many people from physical pain, financial hardship, and the peace that they deserve. As human beings, we should be able to determine what we want as our final goodbye. Your death should be an option to end suffering and pain to those who have suffered
