First, who is considered a refugee and who is considered an asylum seeker? According to Collin’s English Dictionary, a refugee is a person who are forced to leave their home or country because of the fear of persecution because of that person’s political or religious beliefs or there is a conflict such as war. Asylum seekers are people who are trying to find and get asylum, which means shelter or protection from danger granted by a country to someone forced to leave their home country in another country (Collin’s English Dictionary). When refugees and asylum seekers want to live in Sweden/seek asylum in Sweden, they first need to apply for asylum. They can only apply for asylum when they are in Sweden or at the border.
