The Atkins Pickle Factory has been around since 1950s. It is still a running business to this day. It is an old building. It was closed on May 1, 1992. There is mostly woman there. They use these tools that have metal handles for packing the loose pickles into the jar. Then there is a machine that puts the tag on the pickle jars. Then there is packages that the jars go into the crates and then they are shipped to the stores. Then the process is repeated over and over. The Atkins Pickle Factory has started a tradition in Atkins Arkansas. The Pickle Factory is a festival that is held in Atkins Arkansas. Every year an average of two thousand show up. The company purchased land and erected two buildings. The original facility also contained fifty-seven wooden tanks with a storage capacity of 1,000 bushels each. On July 17, 1946, a test run was made, and the Atkins Pickle Company plant began full operations a few days later with approximately 100 employees. The payroll had increased to 150 by August.
