Attendance & Conflict Policies
Each member of the Greece Marching Band is our most important member. Please read all published schedules carefully to avoid conflicts. If personal conflicts arise, please resolve them so that you are in attendance with us. Please do not schedule work or personal appointments (medical, dental, orthodontic, etc.) on regularly scheduled rehearsal days or performances. Missing a rehearsal or performance for homework and studying is NEVER an excused absence and is not tolerated.

All performances are mandatory. Personal illness, death in the family, weddings and religious holidays are usually the only legitimate excuses for missing rehearsals or performances. There are other extenuating circumstances but these would be mutually discussed between the affected parents, students and directors. We recognize that emergencies and problems do arise - please note that our procedures below allow for such circumstances. However, this does not mean that everyone is entitled to any number of ‘free” absences or tardies.

Students are expected to be present for the full duration of the rehearsal or performance. The band director must be informed in writing of an early dismissal from a rehearsal or performance more than one week in advance. All absences should be

All members are expected to arrive fifteen minutes before rehearsal and are expected to help with cleanup/breakdown after rehearsal. Rehearsal starts promptly at 6:30pm. Those walking in at 6:30pm will be marked tardy. Drum majors, section leaders, drumline, and pit percussion members are required to arrive thirty minutes before scheduled rehearsal time for setup and equipment checks. If you are late, it is your responsibility to check in with the drum major to ensure that you are not marked absent. If you are late without prior notice due to an emergency, you must submit an excuse note immediately
