I worked at Audubon Country Club in Louisville, Kentucky. Audubon is a family oriented country club that focuses mostly on their award-winning golf course. The club also has a top rated dining facility and tennis facilities. The golf aspect of the country club is the main focus, because all the other services thrive off the functions of the golf staff. Membership retention and recruitment of new members is what keeps Audubon running and growing.
Customer service is the number one priority at Audubon and that is the main focus of the members inside of the organization. As I previously stated the retention of current members is what keeps Audubon running, it is essential to keep current members satisfied. The golf shop staff does an exceptional job keeping members pleased. First and foremost they are friendly and are willing to go the extra distance for the members, doing things that are sometimes not in their job description. The golf staff is also constantly creating new events and brainstorming ways to make existing events better for its members. Audubon is a country club therefore it is private and only members and their registered guests may take advantage of their services. The other part of the industry is public golf courses which allows for the public to take part of any services that are provided. Audubon offers a lot of the same facilities that are offered at a public golf course, such as the golf course itself, the practice facilities, and the dining facilities. What makes Audubon different from a public golf course is that it offers more benefits and events for its members.
