“ In a novel by William Styron, a father tells his son that life ‘ is a search for justice’.” There are many different stories where characters have to respond to justice or injustice. In the book wonder the main character Augie has has to respond to injustice towards him and his friends. In the book, Augie has a disability which make him have a deformed face. A lot of kids in his new school do not know how to be around him, since he is so different. Especially one child who decided Augie, so the character is already facing a form of injustice. Many people think that the characters that are Augie's friends do not face injustice. They feel that it is only injustice towards the character of Augie, and he has to find justice on his own. However, in the book all character that are friends with Augie get bullied too. The characters that get bullied and have injustice towards them, then start to fight for their justice. This character's know that it is unfair for them to be treated differently just because of someone's looks. This shows that the characters know and understand their injustice. The process of them trying to get justice is understood during the last half of the novel. The characters then start to speak up and reach out about the bully. However, because of this the characters then get bullied worse than they were getting bullied before. These kids do not let the bully get the best of them though. They continue to seek justice, and eventually the characters that would get bullied before, no longer would get bullied. This shows how the characters found justice. In the novel as a whole, there are characters that start to experience injustice towards them, so they take time to understand the problem. Then they start to seek justice for themselves.
